Happy New Year

Just to let the few readers of this blog and the main Hawaii Radio & Television Guide site that we are still here and hope to blog and keep the site updated more frequently through the new year. There are many changes that have occurred in the past months and more in the future as the broadcast industry continues its trend of further changes to compete against “new media” and the internet (both the same in many cases).

Please bookmark the main site and subscribe to the RSS feed of this blog. Your continued support of the site is appreciated.

Welcome to the New Hawaii Radio & Television Guide Blog

My Sony Portable CD Player

We’re starting a new blog which will serve mainly as a link back to our main site and source of newslinks and headlines that also syndicate back to our main site. And on occasion I may post and opinion or two about the state of Hawaii’s broadcast and maybe even print or online media.

In the future I may even ask other writers to contribute to this blog.

The Hawaii Radio & Television Guide has been online in some form or another since 2005 and even before that. I started the guide as a listing of Honolulu radio stations on local Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) before taking the information to the World Wide Web on my personal site.

My name is Mel and I am the publisher, editor, writer and photographer of this blog, the Hawaii Radio & Television Guide website and many other websites. I still listen to a lot of radio and other streaming audio sources during work and play. I have never been employed in the radio business. The closest I got to that was working at an advertising agency. Otherwise I am just your average 9 to 5 working stiff doing administrative work at someone’s office.

Visit the Hawaii Radio & Television Guide for links to all of Hawaii’s radio and television broadcast stations. We also maintain an archive of interesting old stuff. Check it out!
